Stanislav Pochekin

He is one of the representatives of the famous piano school of Heinrich Neuhaus.

Born in the USSR in 1944, he studied middle and higher in Moscow with the prestigious professors E. Mirzoyan and Teodor Gutman. From 1972 he holds a doctorate in music.

He gives piano lessons in one of the famous conservatories of the USSR, in the city of Yekaterinburg and later in the Instituto Superior de Arte (ISA) in Havana, Cuba. During its teaching activity, it has graduated more than 200 students at a higher level, who have won more than 60 prizes in important national and international competitions in Italy, the USA, Cuba, Spain, France, Venezuela and Russia.

He has published several books on piano problems.

He was awarded by the Ministry of Culture of the USSR and Russia with medals of honor for his pedagogical merits.

He has participated on many occasions as a member of the jury in national and international competitions in countries such as Russia, Cuba, Mexico, Venezuela, Spain, Andorra, Italy, France, Morocco, Portugal, among others.

His repertoire extends from baroque music to contemporary music.

During his career, he has offered recitals with the main orchestras of his country and others with outstanding conductors such as M. Paverman, F. Glushenko (USSR), R. Sánchez Ferrer (Cuba), A. Tiomkin (EEEUU), Jesús Medina (Mexico), among others. He has taught Masterclasses around the world and in his activity as a soloist or member of chamber groups, he has participated in several festivals in his country and abroad.

He has made recordings for Radio and Central Television of the USSR, among other countries and also for the record label "Melodia".

Critics have always highlighted his great maturity in interpretation. He is currently a professor at the Liceu Superior Conservatory of Music and a member of the "Internationale klavierakademie" Course in Murhardt (Germany), and Artistic Director of the International Piano Competition of Andorra.
